Reliance marked Jio Platforms’ blockbuster stock market debut with early bonus payments, employee celebrations and religious programmes across India.
Reliance Industries celebrated the landmark stock market listing of Jio Platforms Ltd on October 28, 2026, with a large gathering of employees and their families at Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai. The celebrations followed Jio Platforms’ strong market debut after raising ₹30,213 crore through India’s largest initial public offering.
Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani organised the celebration to recognise the contributions of employees and mark a significant milestone in the group’s expansion into telecommunications and digital services.
As part of the celebrations, Reliance brought forward employee payments ahead of Diwali. October salaries were credited on October 15, while 75% of employees’ annual cash bonuses or performance-linked incentives for the 2026–27 financial year were disbursed on October 28.
The early salary payments were intended to enable eligible employees to participate in the Jio Platforms IPO. The accelerated bonus distribution brought forward a substantial portion of annual performance-linked rewards that would ordinarily have been paid after the financial year ended.
Thousands of employees and their families attended the corporate gathering, which featured food stalls, dance performances and musical programmes combining devotional and contemporary elements.
Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio and managing director of Jio Platforms, addressed employees during the event. His siblings, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani, were also present, reflecting the next generation’s involvement in the group’s digital business.
Beyond the corporate celebration, Reliance organised religious ceremonies, prayers and community meals at temples and pilgrimage centres across several Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Odisha.
In Varanasi, special prayers and offerings were planned at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, alongside a community feast for approximately 15,000 devotees on October 29. Another programme at the Shree Annapurna Mandir was expected to serve around 32,000 people, including 200 sadhus and sanyasis.
Additional community-feeding initiatives were planned at major religious sites, including Badrinath and Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Maharashtra and Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The celebrations followed a strong market debut for Jio Platforms. Shares opened at ₹1,358, representing a premium of approximately 21.4% over the IPO issue price of ₹1,119.
Jio Platforms’ listing marked an important development in Reliance’s transformation from an energy-focused conglomerate into a major telecommunications and digital services group. The business has grown to serve more than 530 million customers, with expanding interests in cloud computing, enterprise technology and artificial intelligence.
The employee celebrations and nationwide community initiatives highlighted the significance Reliance attached to the listing, combining a major corporate milestone with employee recognition and traditional festivities.
