Mumbai, October 28: Jio Platforms made a strong debut on the Indian stock market on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with its shares listing at ₹1,358 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The listing price represented a premium of 21.36% over the initial public offering (IPO) issue price of ₹1,119 per share.

The stock market debut of Reliance Industries’ digital and telecom subsidiary comes after its ₹30,213 crore IPO attracted substantial investor demand. The issue was subscribed 22.19 times during the bidding period from October 21 to October 23.

Investors Earn ₹2,868 Per Lot

Investors who received shares through the IPO allotment saw immediate listing gains.

The company had fixed the IPO price at ₹1,119 per share, with a minimum application lot of 12 shares. This meant investors paid ₹13,428 for one lot.

At the listing price of ₹1,358, the value of these 12 shares increased to ₹16,296, resulting in a notional gain of ₹2,868 per lot before taxes and transaction costs.

On a per-share basis, the listing gain stood at ₹239.

Jio Valuation Crosses ₹12.5 Lakh Crore

Following its stock market debut, Jio Platforms’ market capitalisation crossed ₹12.5 lakh crore, placing it among India’s most valuable listed companies.

The company operates one of India’s largest telecom networks and has a growing presence in digital services, broadband connectivity and technology infrastructure.

Jio Platforms is backed by major international investors, including Meta and Google’s parent company Alphabet.

Institutional Investors Lead IPO Demand

The IPO witnessed particularly strong participation from institutional investors.

Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) subscribed to 70.55 times their reserved portion, while Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) subscribed 14 times.

The retail investor category was subscribed 2.72 times, indicating significant interest from individual investors.

The IPO consisted entirely of a fresh issue of approximately 27 crore equity shares, without an offer-for-sale component.

What Lies Ahead for Jio Shares?

Following the strong listing, investors will closely monitor Jio Platforms’ share price movement, business growth and profitability.

The company’s expansion in 5G connectivity, broadband, cloud services and digital platforms is expected to remain an important factor in its future performance.

However, the listing premium does not guarantee continued gains, and the stock’s subsequent performance will depend on market conditions, earnings growth and investor sentiment. Moneycontrol +2
