Jio Platforms-backed Glance has raised fresh capital from global consumer-focused investment firm L Catterton, marking its first fundraise in more than four years as it expands its AI-driven agentic commerce business across mobile and television screens.
New Delhi, October 26 — Glance, the home-grown AI-powered agentic commerce platform backed by Jio Platforms, has raised an undisclosed amount from global investment firm L Catterton through the issue of fresh equity shares.
The investment marks Glance’s first fresh fundraise in more than four years.
Glance Founder and CEO Naveen Tewari said L Catterton’s investment validates the company’s belief that the future of commerce will increasingly move beyond traditional search towards agentic shopping, where AI systems help consumers discover and buy products more intuitively.
L Catterton manages around $40 billion in equity capital across private equity, credit and real-estate platforms.
Glance had last raised $200 million in February 2022 from Jio Platforms, at an estimated enterprise valuation of around $1.7-1.8 billion.
Before that, Google led a $145 million funding round in December 2020, along with existing investor Mithril Capital.
Mithril Capital, co-founded by Ajay Royan and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, had initially invested $45 million in Glance in September 2019 and continues to remain an investor.
L Catterton Global CEO Scott Dahnke said agentic commerce is changing how consumers discover and shop for products, creating new opportunities for brands that can make the buying journey more personalised and engaging.
He added that Glance is well positioned to benefit because of its wide distribution across the screens where consumers spend their time.
Glance uses idle mobile and television screens to surface e-commerce and other content.
The company has already expanded across several global markets through partnerships with Samsung, Motorola and DIRECTV.
It is currently available on millions of devices in the United States.
Glance has also expanded its presence on Android TV in the US, India and Japan through a collaboration with Google.
The latest investment is expected to support Glance as it scales its AI-led commerce model and strengthens its presence across connected screens.
The company is betting that consumers will increasingly move from search-led shopping to AI-assisted discovery, where products are surfaced based on context, interests and real-time intent.
