Tsuyo Manufacturing has entered into a technical collaboration with China-based Suzhou Lvkon Transmission Technology to develop and industrialise next-generation electric powertrain technologies for commercial vehicles in India.
Mumbai, October 23 — Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt Ltd has announced a technical collaboration with Suzhou Lvkon Transmission Technology to accelerate the development of advanced electric powertrain systems for India’s commercial vehicle market.
The partnership will focus on the development and industrialisation of high-performance electric motors, transmissions, integrated drive systems and electronic control technologies.
The companies also plan to build supporting capabilities in testing and after-sales services to improve reliability and commercial readiness of the products.
The collaboration builds on a relationship between Tsuyo and Lvkon that has developed over the past five years.
Tsuyo said the partnership is expected to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing electric commercial vehicle sector.
Under the arrangement, Tsuyo will bring its domestic manufacturing capabilities, engineering expertise and relationships with Indian original equipment manufacturers, while Lvkon will contribute its product engineering and commercial vehicle drivetrain expertise.
The companies aim to develop electric drive systems tailored to Indian operating conditions and the requirements of trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles.
Tsuyo Founder and CEO Vijay Kumar said the collaboration is intended to create world-class capabilities in electric drive systems and build a scalable foundation for next-generation commercial mobility solutions in India.
The company is also planning a new greenfield manufacturing facility spread across around 24 acres.
The proposed plant is expected to serve as an integrated platform for electric powertrain engineering, manufacturing, testing and product validation.
Tsuyo said the larger objective is to create a technology-led industrial platform in India that combines global product expertise with local engineering, manufacturing, application development and customer support.
The company believes the approach will help it work more closely with Indian OEMs and accelerate deployment of electric powertrain technologies across multiple commercial vehicle segments.
Suzhou Lvkon specialises in electric drive systems for new-energy commercial vehicles, with capabilities covering drive motors, transmissions, control systems and integrated product development.
Lvkon will support Tsuyo across areas such as product engineering, design validation, manufacturing processes, testing systems and after-sales infrastructure.
The collaboration is also expected to help Tsuyo shorten development cycles, improve product maturity and create a stronger platform for large-scale commercialisation.
Lvkon Director for International Sales Eric said India’s electric commercial vehicle market has significant growth potential and the company hopes to play an important role in its expansion.
