State-owned NBCC will develop the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit at Haldighati in Rajasthan at a cost of ₹168.39 crore, with the project featuring what the company says will be the world’s tallest statue of Maharana Pratap.
New Delhi, November 2 — NBCC Ltd will develop the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit at Haldighati in Rajasthan, including construction of what the company has described as the world’s tallest statue of Maharana Pratap.
The project has been sanctioned by the Rajasthan government at a cost of ₹168.39 crore, excluding GST.
The cost includes a 4.25% project management consultancy fee on the actual project cost.
NBCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, and the Rajasthan Heritage Authority for execution of the project.
Under the agreement, NBCC will be responsible for planning, designing, execution, operation and maintenance of the identified works.
A key attraction of the tourist circuit will be the proposed statue of Maharana Pratap, the ruler of Mewar who is remembered for his resistance against Mughal forces.
The project will also include a world-class historical museum depicting Maharana Pratap riding his famous horse Chetak.
Another major feature will be a topographical projection show at the Haldighati Memorial.
The show will present the historical significance and events connected with the Battle of Haldighati through an immersive visual experience.
The development is aimed at transforming Haldighati into a larger heritage and tourism destination by combining historical interpretation with modern visitor infrastructure.
NBCC said the project is expected to strengthen the cultural importance of Haldighati while attracting more domestic and international tourists.
Higher tourist footfall could also support the local economy through increased demand for hospitality, transport, handicrafts and other tourism-linked services.
The initiative forms part of the Rajasthan government’s broader effort to preserve and promote the state’s historical and cultural heritage.
With the statue, museum and immersive projection facilities planned as part of one integrated circuit, the project is expected to give visitors a more comprehensive experience of Maharana Pratap’s life and the history of the region.
