CIMSME has urged the Centre to prevent protests from disrupting commercial hubs during the ongoing festive season.
The Chamber of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME) has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take steps to prevent protests and demonstrations from disrupting business activities in Delhi’s major commercial areas.
In a memorandum submitted to the Home Minister, the organisation highlighted concerns over repeated demonstrations in areas such as Connaught Place, Ramlila Ground and adjoining commercial locations.
The chamber said such disruptions could affect business operations, particularly during the ongoing festival season, when retailers, traders, startups and MSMEs depend on increased customer activity.
According to CIMSME, traffic restrictions, metro closures, road blockages and difficulties in accessing commercial premises can lead to revenue losses and missed business opportunities.
The organisation has requested authorities to review the frequency and impact of protests in key business districts across Delhi-NCR.
It has also called for designated demonstration locations away from major commercial and residential areas to minimise disruption.
The chamber emphasised that access to offices, shops, commercial complexes, markets and other business establishments should remain unaffected by demonstrations.
