State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has secured four major projects from Adani Power, with a combined value estimated between ₹20,000 crore and ₹28,000 crore. Each project will have two 800 MW units.
New Delhi, November 4 — State-owned engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received four major projects from Adani Power Ltd, with the total order value ranging between ₹20,000 crore and ₹28,000 crore.
The orders cover the supply of key power-generation equipment, including boilers, turbines and generators along with auxiliaries, as well as agreed services for the projects.
According to BHEL’s exchange filing, the company has received orders from Adani Power for four projects of 2×800 MW each.
This means each project will have a generation capacity of 1,600 MW, taking the combined capacity covered by the four projects to 6,400 MW.
BHEL said that each project is valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹7,000 crore, excluding GST. This puts the combined value of the four projects in the range of ₹20,000 crore to ₹28,000 crore.
The orders represent a significant addition to BHEL’s power-sector project portfolio and underline continued investment in India’s electricity-generation infrastructure.
Adani Power, part of the diversified Adani Group, is currently the largest private thermal power producer in India.
According to the information provided in the filing, the company operates an installed thermal power capacity of 18,110 MW across 12 power plants.
Its thermal power plants are spread across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu.
In addition to its thermal generation portfolio, Adani Power operates a 40 MW solar power plant in Gujarat.
BHEL is one of India’s leading engineering and manufacturing companies and has decades of experience in supplying equipment and executing projects for the country’s power sector.
The company also operates across several other industries, including power transmission, renewable energy, oil and gas, transportation, defence and aerospace.
The latest Adani Power orders could provide a significant boost to BHEL’s order book while strengthening its position in India’s large-scale power equipment manufacturing sector.
With electricity demand continuing to rise, investments in new generation capacity and supporting infrastructure remain an important part of India’s expanding power ecosystem.
