Solar power – from energy security to self reliance

Amit Kumar, Senior Director, Social Transformation and Knowledge Management, TERI, talks to India Business & Trade about the rise of solar in India’s energy grid.

While the progress has been good, he emphasises that India cannot achieve the scale of deployment it aspires for without achieving self reliance in the solar energy sector. For that, the Indian industry must aspire to not just fulfil domestic requirements, but also become a global player.
