Ministry of Power, has established a specialized Center of Excellence called Unnat Takniki Pradarshan Kendra (UTPRERAK). The center aims to expedite the adoption of clean technologies by industries, thereby enhancing India’s role in the global energy transition. By focusing on the advancement of energy-efficient technologies, the Center of Excellence endeavors to play a pivotal role in improving the overall energy efficiency of the Indian industrial sector.
The Advanced Industrial Technology Demonstration Centre (AITDC) has been has been set up by the Bureau of Energy efficiency (BEE), to exhibit and highlight energy-efficient technologies in significant industry sectors. This center will serve as a combined exhibition, information hub, and repository of knowledge. It will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, facilitating the diffusion of best practices among industry professionals through workshops and seminars.
UTPRERAK, will also function as a strategic institution for enhancing capacity-building in the energy sector. It aims to be a comprehensive solution provider, offering training and educational programs on energy efficiency to energy professionals from all over India. It will provide intensive training to more than 10,000 energy professionals hailing from diverse industries and potential sectors in the next five years.
Union Minister of State for Power Krishan Pal stated that the latest technologies are necessary for us to progress and to compete in the global market. “There is a need to manufacture good technology at low cost. UTPRERAK will play an important role in improving energy efficiency of Indian industry; moreover, saving energy will help not just industry, but the nation as well.”
