The Organic World, India’s leading organic and natural retail chain in the country, has announced a significant expansion of its millet product range. This strategic move will allow the company, part of the Bengaluru-based Nimida Group, to diversify its offerings from just two categories—Whole Grains and Flours—to an extensive selection of 11 categories with over 70 SKUs. This expansion marks a pivotal step in the company’s mission to promote sustainable and health-conscious eating.
The expansion introduces nine new categories: Breads, Rusks, Fresh Batter, Ready-to-Fry Snacks, Snacks, Pasta and Noodles, Breakfast Options, Ready-to-Cook Meals, and Drinks & Juices. This diverse array of products aims to simplify millet consumption and make it more accessible and convenient for consumers who may be unfamiliar with millet or its preparation.
By launching ready-to-eat and ready-to-fry millet products, the company seeks to increase its sales contribution of millet items from the current 4% to a strong double-digit percentage. This move aligns with broader market trends, as analysts project the millet-based snack sector will grow from US$ 2.64 billion in 2024 to US$ 3.84 billion by 2031, with a CAGR of 5.5%.
The expanded range highlights the company’s commitment to providing healthier, more diverse food choices. By incorporating millet into a variety of products, the company is not only addressing the rising demand for nutritious and sustainable food options but also striving to make millet a staple in every household. This enhanced product range will offer consumers a wide variety of delicious and convenient options while contributing to a healthier planet.
