Tax on garbage collection and additional levies on services such as issuing birth certificates are some of the ways in which Mumbai is looking for ways to stimulate their economy. Some of the other areas identified for the same include better storm-water drains to prevent flooding during the city’s annual monsoon, and an ambitious coastal road called the Queen’s Necklace.
The slowdown translates into the fact that federal government hasn’t been able to transfer the funds beyond September.
