According to data for the month of July computed by the India Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI), consumer confidence recovered marginally by 0.6 points. Households felt more certain about their personal finances and savings during the month. “Consumer sentiment is limping back to recovery and showing cautious optimism in July. Mood is somewhat lifting for finances, investment, jobs and economy,” observed Parijat Chakraborty, Ipsos.
The monthly survey registers consumer attitudes on the present and future condition of economy, personal finance, savings and investment confidence. It comprises of four sub-indices; all of which registered a slight recovery in July: current financial conditions index (0.6% points); consumer expectations index (0.1% point); investment index (0.6% points); and, jobs index (0.6% points).
