Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the establishment of a panel for agriculture reforms. The committee would suggest the modalities for adoption and time-bound execution of agriculture sector reforms in two months. These would primarily be structural reforms to boost farm productivity and marketing. The high-powered committee would comprise of chief ministers and be led by Maharashtra’s CM, Shri Devendra Fadnavis. The Union Ministers for Agriculture, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj will also be members of this expert group.
