Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani recently met with Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Druk Green Power Corporation for a 570 MW hydroelectric plant in Chukha province. Adani praised Bhutan’s infrastructure development efforts under King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck’s vision and expressed eagerness to collaborate on hydro and other projects in the country.
In a post on X, Adani shared his admiration for the Prime Minister’s commitment to advancing the King’s vision and pursuing wide-ranging infrastructure initiatives. He highlighted the importance of the green hydro plant project and his anticipation of working closely on similar ventures in Bhutan.
Adani also had the honor of meeting King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. He felt inspired by the King’s vision for Bhutan and the ambitious eco-friendly master plan for Gelephu Mindfulness City, which includes large computing centers and data facilities. Adani expressed his excitement to collaborate on these transformative projects and support green energy management, reinforcing Bhutan’s status as a carbon-negative nation.
