The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has partnered with ITC, a major conglomerate, to support startups in the manufacturing sector. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing the startup ecosystem by leveraging ITC’s market network and expertise, alongside DPIIT’s initiatives.
The partnership is formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), and it will focus on providing digital solutions and renewable energy integration to startups in the manufacturing space. Key areas of support include the deployment of digital platforms for manufacturing execution systems, incorporating renewable energy opportunities at manufacturing sites, and introducing energy storage systems.
Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director of Startup India, emphasized that the collaboration will simplify market access for startups, offering them a range of opportunities to innovate and meet their business needs. Anil Rajput, President of Corporate Affairs at ITC, highlighted that the partnership will focus on digital transformation for operational excellence and renewable energy solutions to align with ITC’s sustainability goals.
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv expressed hope that the collaboration would foster scalable solutions and encourage transformative growth, ensuring a supportive environment for startups to thrive. The partnership aims to facilitate the development of future-ready manufacturing practices, empowering startups with the tools and resources needed to succeed in a competitive market.
