CIM to discuss bilateral issues with USTR

In his scheduled meeting with Robert Lighthizer, United States Trade Representative (USTR), and American medical devices industry on 13th November, India’s Commerce & Industry Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal, will discuss outstanding bilateral issues. Price controls on medical devices, restoration of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), duty cuts on Harley Davidson bikes and mobile phones along with market access to American agricultural commodities including almonds, nuts and berries – are some of the topics that have been subject of their recent talks. India has also been seeking increased market access for certain agricultural goods including fruits and vegetables. The meeting comes ahead of the minister’s participation in BRICS meet.
