The latest data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) reveals that passenger vehicle (PV) exports increased by over 4% in the first half of the current fiscal. With dispatches of over 103,000 units to various geographies like Africa and Latin America, Hyundai Motor India led these exports. Ford India Pvt. Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd were the other top performers.
While the PVs exported during April-September’19 were 365,282 units, those exported during the same period last year were 349,951 units. Car shipments, too, saw a 5.61% increase at 286,495 units, while utility vehicle exports rose marginally to 77,397 units during the April-September period, the data showed. However, vans witnessed a 27.57% decline during this time.
